According to Jane Okumu Nandawula, the secretary general of Public Relations Association of Uganda (PRAU), the awards will be held at the end of the three-day regional conference. The meeting will gather PR practitioners from countries including; Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda as well as the South African Public Relations Society (SAPRS) and the All Africa Public Relations Association (APRA).
This year's conference will be held from 21-23 November, under the theme 'The Next 50 Years of Public Relations'. The theme is in line with the celebrations to mark the 50 years of independence from British rule.
"EAPRA Conference & PRAU Excellence Awards are giving you the unique opportunity to market your products and services to directly 500 and indirectly to 8 million East African corporate, humanitarian and government populations," Mary Okurut, the Patron PRAU notes in an invitation letter.
Last year, Kampala-based fireworks Advertising emerged the overall winner of the PRAU Excellence Awards after beating competitors to award.
