ParkFind app solves Cape Town's parking woes

NEWSWATCH: If you've tried to find a parking spot in Cape Town's CBD on a... um, ever; you'll know full well that it can lead to your not-so-pretty self making an appearance as you start shouting behind your steering wheel out of frustration - at no one...

You'll be happy to know that your parking woes may be a thing of the past, thanks to a new app introduced by Street Parking Solutions.

The app, ParkFind, allows you to find available parking bays throughout the Cape Town CBD. It shows colour coded parking pins which allow you to view parking availability in real time. The pins are updated every minute, making it quite accurate and timely.

According to a report on IOL, owner of Street Parking Solutions, Zunaid Loghdey said in the process of moving over to the smartphone app none of the parking marshals, dotted across the CBD with their orange bibs, would lose their jobs: “We have not cut the parking marshal out of this thing. The parking marshal is intrinsically woven into this solution.”

Once you've parked, the app provides you with area-specific parking information such as the officially appointed parking marshal's name, the parking location, as well as the parking hours and rates. You can sign up with a credit or debit card for secure in-app, hassle-free payments.
